The PN2-114 is a pneumatic feedwheel tensioner that is a very handy tool for busy workers to handle in the work place. This tool can be used with a pneumatic sealer. The battery form of this tool is the Signode Grip Pack 114 Tensioner. While many people in the industry are switching to battery operated tools for ease of operations there are several pneumatic tool loyalists who continue to use pneumatic tools.
However, this a great tool by Signode and very convenient to carry about in the workplace, especially in warehouse and shop floors where the operator is always on the go. The tension in this tool is uniform and is very light that it does not need to be counter balanced. This is a very common tool in many steel industries.

The PN2-114 is not a combination tool and so a pneumatic sealer is needed to apply the seal. A big disadvantage of pneumatic tools is that though these tools are fast and efficient, there are air lines running all around the work place and proving to be a hassle. Since these lines are constantly dragged from one place to the other in the strapping area, it also is a big hindrance for the operators.
To solve these problems, the battery powered tools have been designed and used by the industries. Many have switched over to battery powered tools because they are faster and efficient, and battery powered sealers and tensioners too have hit the market. In fact the battery form of PN2-114 is the Signode Grip Pack 114 Tensioner and there is a Grip Pack sealer too that can go well with the tensioner. However, since some people in the industry are accustomed to using pneumatic tools, the PN2-114 is still very popular and largely utilized.
Industry experts say that the PN2-114 is one of the best pneumatic tensioners and though the strapping industry has seen a major switch to pneumatic combination tools, the PN2-114 is still going strong. A great advantage of this tool is that it has an unlimited strap take up and has a quick disconnect plug in order to ensure maximum safety to the operator. The only other tool that can possibly replace the PN2-114 is the SCMH-34 another combination tool from Signode.
